Time for an Update!

Hello everyone!

I wanted to pop over today and share what I have been up to lately. I have become one extremely busy but very happy retired person. If you follow my blog you already know that I have 7 grandchildren. Fall is the super busy season with sports...as of right know 5 of my 7 grandchildren are involved in various sporting events...so this grandma is at almost every single event. Due to all of this activity I have had to take a break from my Design Team obligations...so for now on Scrapbook Blessings Club I will only be in charge of and taking care of the Card Kit portion. As for Cuttin' and Stampin' I had to totally step down from there.

Another reason busyness has taken over is my online (FB group) store...Scrapping for Less...has all of a sudden exploded! Good problem to have right? I am sooooo extremely thankful for all of my customers who keep me hopping.

I have a very good friend that I craft (facetime) with on a regular basis that has just started up a blog and Etsy shop...hopefully she is going to keep me accountable for updating my blog frequently. I have the want to but it just seems like the time to actually do it escapes me. Sunshine, Smiles, and Cards...what a cute name don't you think?

I will leave you with some photos of the little ones who have kept me hopping since the end of August!

Hannah (9) my only granddaughter

Trevor (4) my youngest grandson

Cody (15) my 2nd grandson

Tyler (17) my oldest grandson

Junior (10) my 3rd grandson

It is perfect for all levels of scrapbookers! So whether you are a newbie or an experience scrapper, these kits has everything you'll need to create fast and easy projects. All you need to do is get out your scissors, paper trimmer and adhesive.

Why card kits? A couple reasons, one is getting fabulous papers and embellishments from popular Scrapbooking Companies, without buy a ton that you never use and letting it all just sit in the drawer.

The second is cost. I am a frugal scrapbooker and affordability is always high on my list.  It is not always easy to spend $30- $50 on a kit.
Our kits will be $15.00 which INCLUDES shipping!

And lastly is convenience, with these kits, there is no guess work in getting papers to coordinate along with embellishments and fabrics, etc.

Who doesn't love fun and affordable--papers, flowers, chalk inks, brads, chalkboard, stamps, buttons.. more!! Every month you get something a little different!

Design Team Day over at SBC!

Hello Crafters! I have a fantastic review for you today over at Scrapbook Blessings Club! It is a super great product...you get fabulous results and guess what? Something all of us crafters would like to find...the products are great yet inexpensive.

TIP: Don't be afraid to try something new that may look like it is out of your comfort zone!

Anyhow, I started with some watercolor paper and printed out a digital image on it. I taped it to my wooden cutting board, and started watercoloring with this fabulous product.

Here is my image...then I will let you know a bit about the products. Stay tuned for my post on Sunday where I will take this image and create my challenge project with it.

Super cute...I promise to have a much better photograph on Sunday.

These are the two products I used.
Artist Loft Watercolors (28)...purchased from Michael's...they were 8.99
Pearlescent Watercolors...also purchased from Michael's...they were 6.99

I really liked both of these products...it was so much fun to watercolor with the brush. Also you could create the shading you want on your image just by controlling the amount of water you put on your brush. The Pearlescent colors gave a beautiful shine to the goldfish that is certainly hard to see in the picture. I will definitely be reaching for both of these products more often.

Thanks for joining me here today. Make sure to check out the challenge over at the SBC blog.

My Tip: Sentiments do not always have to be on the outside.

I love how this card turned out. And I used mostly scraps to create it! Woo Hoo!

They are offering a digital stamp to one lucky winner of this challenge. You get an additional entry if you use one of the challenges from April-June. I used one in June where it was just to use a digital image and color it using your choice of medium.

So, I got out my Spectrum-Noir alcohol markers and colored this beautiful image in bright summer colors to match my paper.

Family Friday @ Cuttin' and Stampin'

Week 25

4th of July

Hello everyone.  Can you believe it's the last week of June?  Where did the time go?

Are you ready to celebrate the USA's birthday?  It's always a big day around our place.  Starting with a big breakfast and parade.  Lots of family gathering for the afternoon and into the evening.  Then a great fireworks show to end the night.  To help kick off the festivities Cuttin' and Stampin' is creating 4th of July cards/projects.

The design team is using Pebbles Americana paper collection and stamp set this week.

6x6 paper pack                                                                                          Journaling Cards

 Stamp set                                                       Chipboard Pieces

Sharing two layouts with you today....still working on catching up in those family albums. 4th of July is my second favorite holiday to scrapbook. Maybe cause in my family those are the two biggest holidays we celebrate together as a family.

Scrapbook Blessings Day!

Good Morning Crafters! Today is Flag Day so I have a patriotic project for you today! Sure hope you enjoy. Thanks so much for joining me. Check out all the things Scrapbook Blessings Club has to offer!

I decided to make a little home decor project for you today.

A close up of one of the flower clusters

Supplies:
Straw wreath
Material Strips cut 3"x 18"
Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge
Pearl Spray Mist
Straight Pins
Bazzill 4th of July printed paper
Various red, white, and blue ribbon

Step 1: I wrapped the wreath with the printed material strips and pinned them onto the straw form.

Step 2: Cut 4 different size/patterns of 6 petal flowers from Accent Essentials.

Step 3: Layer together and begin scrunching and folding to create the rumpled look of the flower. Layer another flat flower of similar or contrasting color in the middle and secure all with a brad.

Step 4: Make various size bows with ribbon and pin in place.

Step 5: Pin paper flowers to the wreath form.

Hope you enjoy! Can't wait to see what kind of Patriotic project you can create!!

Family Layout over at Cuttin' and Stampin'

I am on board today over at Cuttin' and Stampin' with this really adorable layout. Head on over there to check everything out, enter our challenge, and maybe even shop a bit!

I don't know if you have been taken over by this trend of word bubble or not, but the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team sure has.  Every which way we turn there's more and more great products using the bubbles.  So we decided we needed to make a challenge out of it.
This week we are using Basic Grey Capture paper collection and the Jillibean Soup Word Bubbles stamp set.  Both items are on sale in the Cuttin' and Stampin' Amazon store.

I created a super fun layout which awaits the perfect pictures for the word bubbles!
I started by laying everything out on the page to determine the layout and where I wanted my spray to be. I then took it all up and sprayed some Silvery Smooch spray on the left side. Then I started adhering all the items in the fashion they were to begin with. I was super pleased with how this cam out...I think I am going to use this layout to showcase my two youngest grandsons...they have such adorable personalities that this layout will be perfect for them!

Scrapbook Blessings Club Product Review

Good Morning Crafters, So glad you could join us today....I have a product review for you comparing Prima Chalk Edge Ink Pads vs. Colorbox Cat's Eye Ink Pads...

First, let me tell you I was going to video tape this but the best laid plans just do not always work! So here is my take on the two of these pads.
Comparison Chart

         Prima Chalk Edge Ink Pads
  1. the shape (easier to hold)
  2. very fluid and smooth
  3. comes in chalk and metallic
  4. metallic not available in individual colors...only in 2 different sets of 8
  5. has 47 colors
  6. a few pennies more than Cat's Eyes
  7. super cute...reminds me of a mini iron
  8. available in individual colors or various color sets (8 included in each set)

      Colorbox Cat's Eye Ink Pads

  1. a different shape (not hard hold but does not have a natural type handle like the Prima)
  2. comes in metallic, chalk, and pigment
  3. 5 metallic colors, 49 chalk colors, 48 pigment colors
  4. can purchase a separate holder for the little pad to hold it
  5. available in individual colors or various color sets (6 included in each set)
  6. a few pennies cheaper than Prima
  7. not as smooth as the Prima
  8. my fave color to ink edges---Chestnut Roan

Time will tell I just started using the Prima Edgers...I need to try and find a color that is comparable to the Chestnut Roan I like to ink edges with and compare how well they hold up over time. So stay tuned I will do that in a future comparison.

Below is a pic I took of a card I made and edged the banner in two comparable yellow inks. The top and flag cut edges of the banner are the Prima which went on smooth as butter, the bottom was edged with the Cat's eye and well it just doesn't feel as smooth going on.

Hope I helped you make some informed decisions today about what type of small ink pads you might like to purchase/use in the future.

Head on over to Scrapbook Blessing Club to see all we have to offer over there!
