Design Team Day!

Back again with another birthday card...this time for a very dear Aunt. Check out Scrapbook Blessings Club for great posts and crafting ideas.

I had this image in my stash...I have no idea where it came from...back in the day before I knew it wasn't keen to participate in stamped image swaps I did that and I think this may be where the image came from.

Pansies are my second favorite flower and if my aunt is anything like her daughter she absolutely loves flowers. My favorite color of Pansy is purple...that deep dark purple. All of these combined are the reason I colored this image purple. Hope you enjoy!

Supply List:
Yellow card base from my stash
Pansy image from my stash (I know this is naughty, we learn as we grow)
Copic Markers
Avery Elle Dotted Die
Fancy Pants "Office Suite" patterned paper
Clear Wink of Stella
Viva De Cor Yellow Pearl Pen

Make It Happen-2016 (Sleep Mini-Series pt 1)

How well do you sleep? Do you sleep in every morning? Get up at the crack of dawn? Get up at dark-thirty?

I am going to journey into the land of slumber today and see what I can find out to support my quest for change. Since I really didn't have a plan for today's Make It Happen-2016 post and I decided I am going to get back on track with things starting today; (Lots and lots has happened in my world since the beginning of this year) I am going to begin a mini-series within the big series picture.

I want to focus on the topic of sleep and how one can change their routine, make-up, habits, whatever you want to call them and make it stick! I have always LOVED my sleep. I love sleeping in and absolutely HATE getting up at the butt crack of dawn. Well, because I truly love my hubby I get up with him when he goes to work and fix his coffee, fix his lunch and spend a bit of time with him before he leaves for the day. But herein is the bad part...when he leaves at 5:50something I head back to bed. Why? Because most of the time I am sluggish, I feel it is just too early to start my day as a SAHW. But, delaying the start of my day means my day is shortened by however long I sleep thus results in less time to get things done before my hubby arrives home from work at 4pm. Cause you see when he walks in that door at 4pm my whole attention turns to him. Dinner is cooking, and I spend the rest of the evening with him.

So, I am on a quest to start researching what, how, and the steps necessary to change my habit of going back to bed and become a morning person.

I began a tiny bit of research so I will leave you with this snippet I took from this resource
I needed to only focus on a tiny bit of it for the time being so changing the how I wake up part is what I decided.

So, here are the steps I plan to take the rest of this week....

  1. One of the tips on here is don't lounge...get some jumping jacks or movement in...I will do some stretches and exercises before I rise from the bed and then some further stretches in the bathroom. I will also tidy up the kitchen before sitting on the couch with hubby.
  2. Get Accountable: tell a friend or family member...I will share with my friend Kim my wake up and stay up time each morning
  3. Start Slowly: I will begin my day after hubby leaves for work by immediately making the bed, tidying the bedroom (unless it is cleaning day) and then head to kitchen and make my breakfast therefore, I should be finished with breakfast and my daily chores by 7am.
I am really hoping I can make this happen! I will report next week on Make It Happen-2016 Monday my progress for the rest of this week.

Design Team Day!

I have a card to share over at Scrapbook Blessings Club! I have a wedding card today using a technique I have wanted to try for a long time.

I heat embossed the image with white fine detail powder on vellum and then flipped it over and colored it with Copic markers. I sooooo need to get better about keeping a list of products used.
I do know I used products from the following companies: My Favorite Things, Wild Rose Studios, Close to My Heart, Lawn Fawn, Copic.

Thankful Thought: I get to spend my Dad's 82nd birthday with him. We live several states apart so it is extra nice to be able to be with him this year.

I am back today with 2 very special  cards.
Card #1 is for my step-mother. I was able to use a stamp I have been wanting to use for some time.

Card #2 is my dad's card. I decided to make him a really fun card.

Hope you enjoyed these really fun cards today.

A Little Something

Thankful Thought: So happy that I  save things on my phone... you know just in case.

So today's project is something I created sometime ago for a wedding present. I took a clock I purchased and took it apart and gave it a new look. I used some pattern paper in my stash,  some sticker numbers and colored some sweet little Marci images to adorn the face of the clock.

Please forgive the lighting of the photo...I know it is not the best.

Make It Happen-2016

Hello my friends! I am having quite the struggle being consistent lately...or better yet to begin being consistent. My have things gotten in the way lately...but overall when I look back they are life things and I am totally fine with what has come my way...I just will be very happy to get settled into a routine for awhile and get some motivation pumping. With that being said...hubby and I are on vacation this week and I will be getting that motivation going next week when I get home! Haha!

I want to leave you with a few of the reasons that things have been askew lately...and I do think and know this...never be so wrapped up in your schedule, things to get done, or things planned that you forget about the relationships in your life! Life is short, live it to the fullest!!!
