Life Update: Warning Long Post

I just wanted to pop in today and give everyone a little glimpse into where I have been since August (YIKES!) my last blog post here!

I will take this little story all the way back to October of 2016...I decided to expand my business "Scrapping for Less" and open a website. I had been content with the business being a Facebook pre-order site until my sales rep at the time (thanks so very much for that push, Steve Vos) suggested why didn't I expand to the internet and with an online store! Well after some thought and much hard trying and figuring (with his help) I just pushed through and went for it.

Okay, so let's now fast forward to January of 2017...I took my then Product Assistant...more about her on January 1! And a Design Team member and decided if I was going to expand and grow this website I needed to go to the industry's trade show (Creativation) and get my name out there and just see how well I was able to mesh into this wonderful industry!

Wow! what a whirlwind...I went to Phoenix, AZ as a little tiny website (totally unknown) and was a sponge...learning, meeting, and looking at all the possibilities and ways I could grow this business. I was so thankful that I and my team members were accepted with arms wide open by some wonderful companies.

So how does all that pertain to where I have been since August you might ask? Well, I was fooling myself to think that I could single handed practically run a website, a Facebook group, start up a card kit, and be the orderer, packager, and shipper of everything. And at the same time continue to create all the time for all the blog hops, and posts in between!

I tried really hard but I will be totally honest it took its toll and I not only began to put out creations that I was not proud of at all because they had been created at the last minute and under a severe time crunch but it also manifested itself in my health and well being also.

The result was to take a step back from creating, get myself healthy both mentally and physically, focus on growing and expanding the business and strengthening those relationships with others in the industry, and focus on getting some much needed help with the business.

I am here now at the end of 2017 to say that I was able to successfully do all of the above (more about direction, goals, and moving forward on January 1) and then some! I, of course would never say that I feel I am finished but I do feel like I am back to my old self and am wonderfully happy to be back to creating with my team!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and look into my little corner of the world!

For my card today I used a couple of Concord and 9th products: Lovely products! Although the execution of my card did not come out quite like I wanted it to! And well, I didn't have time to create another...so I apologize for giving you shoddy work but if you leave a blog comment in telling me how I can salvage this without trashing the whole card I will choose someone to win a prize! Thanks so much for all your help in advance!
I used "Orange You Sweet" Stamp set and Select an Edge Dies. Both of these can be found in the Scrapping for Less Store.

Mermaid and Home Decor'

Hello my crafty friends! I am here today to share with you a little bit of an obsession this summer! I am obsessed with mermaids! What a lovely and mythical thing to be obsessed with, right? Well I purchased this die set from Little B...(from Scrapping for Less of course) You can shop two places...the Facebook Group or the Website! If you would like to purchase this die just let me know and I can get it ordered for you!

So, I decided to decorate this little chalkboard that hangs in my scrapbook room with the dies I cut out from this die set.

Funny story about this chalkboard: In March my daughter who lives in Oregon was here for a visit...one day she graciously helped me do some reorganizing in my scrapbook room. I said "I need to put up a new quote." To which she replied let me...so of course I did...and she wrote and drew without letting me see it and then hung it back up! I squealed with delight at how fitting and adorable!

This photo does not do it justice at all!

Photos of the Dies: The back of the die packages shows that you can paper piece and use different colors with the die however I found that pretty difficult to do so I just used some shimmer paper I had and cut them all out with a solid color.

Anyhow even though I couldn't figure out how to paper piece lots of nice dies to use on all those summer ocean and beach themed cards.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

A Sweet Thank You!

Has someone ever touched a loved one's life so profoundly you knew you had to thank them in some way?

My granddaughter was in a friend of mine's classroom this year in 5th grade. Mrs. Hindley forever laid an imprint on my granddaughter's heart and life. I watched Hannah grow from a bit insecure and not confident in her abilities little girl to blossom into a confident, outgoing, bubbly young lady!

So thankful for great teachers who pour their lives into students...Mrs. Hindley is moving to 6th grade next year and Hannah would be doubly blessed to have her again.

I created this card to send out to my friend as a thank you/congratulations card. Thanks for the great impact she made on Hannah's life this year and congrats on the brand new job!

So if this stamp set is on your radar hold on a bit and the dies will be up on the website to match the stamp!
