Brand New Challenge: Facebook Group: Fresh and Renewed with Teresa

I would love it if you would join me over at the Fresh and Renewed with Teresa Facebook group. Formerly known as Scrapping for Less: Show and Share...I cannot get the name to change so  it does show up as the Scrapping for Less name.

I will be having a challenge starting today and going through Jan 31st. You can enter up to 3 times. There is a small prize for the winner each month.

Head on over to the group to see the challenge post and the new rules for the challenges. Can't wait to see what you choose to  enter.

A Brand New Look to go with a Brand New Adventure

Well, here it is 2021! I am so very excited to bring you a new look for my blog as well as a new adventure with me!

I wanted to spend a few minutes with you and share what is happening with me for this year and a bit of what transpired last year. I am not going to spend any time focusing on last year and how it was difficult or anything cause we all know that. Rather, I would like to share with you what I learned, or actually was reminded of. Once again, I was reminded life is short...and I do mean short!  Through this National Pandemic we across our country have experienced I was reminded I need to be spending as much time with loved ones as I can. Especially those I love most! My hubby is retired, so I decided to completely join him. I retired very early (at 55) from teaching school and was only retired for a year before I opened the Scrapping for Less business. This year taught me it is time to make life in our latter years about  spending time doing what we love: for me that is spending quality time with hubby and family, and crafting!

So, I closed up the business and retired! And boy am I going to enjoy this!

Ok, onto what is happening crafty wise for the new year! I have changed the YouTube channel name to reflect the same name as my blog Fresh and Renewed with Teresa. You will see lots of crafting and collabs on my YouTube channel as well as updates from time to time.

I wanted to pick a word for the year this year but as I reflected on myself and my personality, I decided to do a word of the month. I will do a weekly blog update on how the progress or reality of that word is impacting my life for that month.

For the month of January I chose to use a word from my blog title and have chosen the word renewed.

I feel like I have fresh life this week  in looking at a brand new year, having the strength to embark on this new adventure and also feel revived again to bring my crafting to a new level.

Thanks so much for spending some time with me today!

Collected Crafty Collab: October Thankful and Shiny | #collectedcraftycollabs

I am honored to be a part of this group. I apologize to the whole group for my being a tad late today. Trying to push through stuff is rough...but as the saying goes "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" just not on time today...LOL

I combined both of these elements and used some background paper and glitter paper to create this sweet and sparkly card.

The flower panels I have had for quite some time as a friend gifted those to me years ago. So happy to finally use them. And the best part about these cards is they are not going to just sit in my stash. They will be going with my first ever donation to the 2 new nursing homes in my area  I  will be consistently donating cards to from now on! So happy about that.

Thanks for joining us on the hop: Next up is Lounon

Picket Fence "Lily Bouquet" #marvelousmondaycraftingcrew

Hello my crafty friends! I missed last Monday but I am back today. I am excited to bring you this beautiful card. I colored up this image this spring when I was making Easter cards. I amazed myself at the coloring of this and chose not to use it for a card at Easter. I have enjoyed it since then.

Fast forward...a few days ago I saw on FB that it was my Aunt's birthday...we don't see each other often at all because she lives in Virginia but I so treasure her. I immediately knew that is what I needed to do with the lily bouquet image was to make her a birthday card.

First I got out my Gansai Tambi Watercolor and splattered a white 5x7 card base
with green, orange, and gold paint.
Then, I glued my image down flat. I thought about popping it up but decided against it.
I stamped the sentiment and then added some gold glitter dots and those 3 green glitter enamel dots which happened to just be laying on my desk.

Last, I got out my Spectrum Noir sparkle marker and glittered up the flowers.
I wish the camera could catch the sparkle of those flowers!

I know my Aunt Evelyn is going to absolutely love this card!

Thanks for stopping by this evening.
