Encouraging Words: Word of the Month for April

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are doing well! This year sure seems to babe flying by! Easter is gone and it is about to be Mother's Day! True to my Direction for this month I am going forward. In case you forgot my word for April is Direction...

And in moving forward I want to share a little story with you and share a photo I shared on Instagram last week.

I set goals in December for January-March...Just 90 goals! Not 90 as in the numerical amount but goals for 90 days...I followed the method/planner from this lovely Etsy shop owner/YouTube creator (Emma) that designed this Just 90 planner. I tried to follow her method without purchasing her planner....well I totally failed and failed miserably at achieving any of my goals I set forward...well not all of them...I did achieve a couple...More about that on my YouTube channel tomorrow where I will have my update of goals and my quarterly empties video.

So, fast forward to the end of March and realizing these goals weren't being met...I decided to purchase the Just 90 planner and put these goals into action! So that is exactly what I will be doing! So stay tuned and watch this determined cardmaker/grandma/wife/designer achieve more than she ever has before!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Encouraging Words: April Word of the Month

Hello friends! It has been a hot minute since I have been here to share my encouraging words! I have had a crazy month of March and things have just not gone smoothly! I am so hoping to get back on track.

My word for the month of April is:

I had another word picked out but I felt like that word just did not fit my mood and what I needed for this month. I need to totally move in a forward direction. I so want to change things in my life for the best. This first quarter of the year were met with a very challenging time...some successes were made but not enough to my satisfaction.

So, with a new direction...one in which I am definitely moving forward!! I plan to take the bull by the horns this quarter and move that bull onward!

Stay tuned to next week's post for more on this month's direction!

I do have some cards I created last month and have them here today. In my goal for using up scraps I am making headway in the right direction.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

April Handlettering Challenge: Rainshower Related Words

Hello my friends! I know today is the 2nd! My day yesterday was super full with Not 2 Shabby responsibilities and then grandma duties...I had the wonderful privilege of bidding at the pig auction and winning the bid for my granddaughter's show pig. Thanks so much to Kevin for going in half with us!

Ok, so onto the Handlettering Challenge for the month and why I chose these words.

I am a very seasonal planner, and seasonal person...I love celebrating seasons! So, when I was deciding what to use for this month I decided to use the old adage "April Showers Bring May Flowers" and use Rainshower related words....mainly because guess what follows? FLOWERS! and oh flowers just thrill my soul! So not to get ahead of myself let's enjoy all the wonderful rain related words and practice handletterring with them! I will be back tomorrow to show my progress so far this month. Here's hoping this month is a much better month for me than March was!

Encouraging Words-March Word of the Month

It's time for another Encouraging Words Saturday!

Sorry I was absent last week...it was my birthday weekend and my sister came down from NC for a visit...sometimes that may happen from time to time this year...me not able to get up the blog post...but I will try my best each Saturday.

Onto this month's word...DEDICATION

This is going to be a very important word to me this year! I will be back next Saturday to share what this word means to me!

Now to leave you with my promise of a card each Saturday using supplies from my stash to use them up!

This was my grandson's birthday card last week.

Take care and thank you so much for stopping by!

Handlettering Challenge Begins Today!

Today is the Day! I am beginning a brand new monthly series/challenge...I am so very excited about this!

If you did not read yesterday's blog post please stop here and go back and read that post first. So here are all the particulars you will want to know.

If you would like to join us welcome! I have always been a fan of various types of fonts and hand lettering. In fact, my favorite types of fonts are script fonts! So, welcome I am so glad you are here with me! March's prompt is pictured down below. I hope you will love this as much as I do. ❤️ 🤩✨📝

If you would like to join, HERE’S HOW IT WORKS! ✍🏻😄

  1. Every day for the month practice the word...you can use any handwriting style you choose. 🖊️
  2. Share your handwriting challenge with others on Instagram. Use the hashtag #freshandrenewedwithteresahandletteringchallenge (I know it is a long one)...make sure to tag me as well so I can comment on your progress, I would love to follow you as well! 💐⏩
  3. Feel free to repost this and share so others can join in!
  4. Remember the old adage...Practice makes perfect...so I would like to change that adage to...With Practice you will see Progress!!! Cause nothing is ever PERFECT! 🗝️

What are some supplies you will need?
  1. Writing Utensils: you can use hand lettering brush markers...I have several listed in my Amazon store or you can just use fun colored pens if you are not really concerned with the "hand lettering" aspect and you just want to try different fonts everyday.
  2. Something to write on: I am using a Classic Happy Planner Horizontal layout...the specific one that I am using is also listed in my Amazon store...however there are lots of Happy Planner products on sale at this particular time at some of the big box stores. You can also just use a notebook you have on hand.
  3. And of course you will need the month's prompt list.

Note* If you happen to stop during the month, and decide to pick back up start where you left off...trying to catch up can become burdensome and not fun! Remember, this is for fun! 📖🕰️🙂

Introducing Handlettering Prompt Lists (Long Post warning!)

Hello my fellow crafters, planners and anyone else who loves to dabble in all kinds of crafts! I have wanted to learn how to do hand lettering/brush lettering for a very long time. At one time I followed @mermaidslogic (Ashley) 🧜‍♀️ on Instagram and did her monthly lettering prompts. It was fun to write out the words in various lettering each month. Ashley stopped doing the hand lettering sometime ago and I really didn't realize how much I missed it until last month when I was writing in a notebook and came across the few lists that I had completed.

So, on my new quest to improve myself I reached out to Ashley and asked her if she would mind if I take up the task of putting out a monthly Handlettering List prompt each month. She gave me her blessing and so I am jumping on this bandwagon to begin my journey of learning hand lettering. ✍️

I am also following Judi of JLBCrafts on YouTube to practice letters. She does a hand lettering video every Sunday.

The prompts begin on March 1st with the  March list. I decided for March to use Wacky Holidays. Now let me give a bit of explanation to my list...my birthday is in March so on that day I used the word "birthday." I am on the Not 2 Shabby Design Team and design papers, ephemera, and sometimes stamps for Jamie so I included the names of the paper pads for March. My dad's birthday is in March as well so I put the word "Dad"on his birthday. Basically anything that had meaning to me on that day I tried to use that word.

I will be back tomorrow with the list and the explanation of how I am doing this and hashtags so you can tag me should you choose to do this list writing.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you all the best with your list writing. 📔✍️
